So I get booked to do two conferences during the afternoon, setting up and supporting a laptop and projector that I set up for the conference. Luckily, I am in the far back of the room. I get to people watch while the conference is going on. This helps in keeping busy so I don't fall asleep, as there is 0% that pertains to me. Some things to do while at a conference or presentation... • Type a blog post on a BlackBerry • Play Monopoly on an iPhone • Tweet about not falling asleep • Watch to see who is falling askeep • Take pictures. This has worked for about 2 hours, but I'm not gonna last much longer. I may pass out as soon as I get home. Its gonna leave me a ton to do wed, thurs, and friday. But I feel like a zombie right now. Luckily all the tickets are closed right now. They're talking about PTO now. I need to schedule some time off. I have 16 days left between now and Sept 30th. I have too much going on between now and early January to take any time off right now. I have a floating holiday I need to take sometime soon. I should schedule that at some point. Maybe I'll take some time off in late January, at least have a 4 day weekend. My only planned trip this year is to Austin for SxSW in March. Two purposes for that trip, to promote Horrible Turn (horribleturn.com), and to promote a friend's art site (vinovas.com). Should be a fun trip. I unfortunately rarely ever leave Houston because something always comes up during my time off. This year, though, I will be there for SxSW one way or another. Stream of consciousness blogging ftw.
